Bali Escapade: The Food Page

A continental buffet breakfast at the resort is really nothing out of the ordinary. Food wasn't fantastic although it was included in the accomodation.

Lunch was more exciting. First up, coke was an absolute necessity! The heat, OMG!

We filled our stomachs with fried 'indomee' ,crackers, a sunny-side up and 2 sticks of satay. The heat aside, I liked the rustic, simple Balinese deco of the non-airconditioned restaurant.

A romantic garden dining setup.
To be attempted only at night at a more pleasant temperature please.

In the evening, ...

... we returned to the same restaurant when we saw a dish with crab & lobster at a reasonable price. But we were told they didn't manage to buy any crabs from the market. So, we decided on just prawns.

Finally, on our final night at Bali, we managed to feast on the seafood platter, complete with a 'baby' crab & some parts of a lobster. This turned out to be Fred's undoing & a consequential food poisoning (with all the drama of surviving the symptoms while having to catch a flight home). I felt bad that I was unharmed although we shared the same platter. Poor him. It was porridge & light food for a few days thereafter.
