Off to the Christmas Light-up

By the time we waited for Tris to stop making ugly faces, Angel became restless. Haiz! Boys!

So we decided not to have Tris in this picture. Hahaaa!

And we actually bumped into my in-laws! What are the chances on a crowded Orchard Road?
Amazing. Angel didn't let off a chance to be mischievous. She grabbed Ye Ye's pen delightedly.

Needless to say, Angel had to pose as angel. Papa provided assistance in this. Tks Papa!

Angel: How fast she has grown!

Recently, I saw a picture of Angel in the infant room. It was her in the first few months of enrollment. She looked so happy on the little trike, smiling for the camera!

Looking at the picture brought a lot of comfort to me. I didn't have any option but to enroll my little Angel into Infant Care when we had her. So it was quite divine that the Infant Care went through some re-staffing before Angel's enrollment and the current team of teachers are simply excellent. They are responsible, passionate, unassuming and a really creative bunch as well! Her eating in school is as regular as clockwork, better than at home, and she bonds very well with the teachers & other babies. Thank God for His hand in these special caregivers placed over Angel's life. For the record, this was the decoration put up for her first year birthday! I didn't even notice until I saw the pictures Teacher Eunice sent me. How thoughtful!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAngel's Teacher Eunice: fun-loving & spontaneous!

Angel's Teacher Devi, gentle & firm - fondly identified as 'De De'
(because 'D' is the first sound Angel masters; so she goes Dadada as well, more often than Mama)

Angel's teacher Zena, sweet and soft-spoken

Angel's Teacher Thila, steady & unfaltering

Coming back to trikes and bikes, now that Angel rides with us on our bikes, I realise just how much she has grown and how much fun and surprise we have had as we watch her personality emerge over the months. Last week, we took her on a ride along the park and canal. She sat so quietly, not uttering a single word, but just gazing at the trees, the joggers, the children, the dogs, and her grinning mommy trying occasionally to catch her eye. Then unexpectedly, as the sun was setting, her little head popped over the side of her seat. Lo and behold! She was so relaxed she fell asleep during the ride. We were
truly tickled by her! And some passers-by too.

This was when she got home. Still sound asleep!

October's Reflection

October again! But no, this year's October is a special one. The hubs and I celebrated our birthdays as first-time parents, and our journeys are somewhat more special than most other parents we know. We celebrate our birthdays as first-time adoptive parents. I kept reminding myself (and occasionally the hubs when I catch the right mood): we made a life-changing decision because we choose to have someone to love unconditionally. Come back-break or heart-break, it is an unending love affair we never turn our backs on. May this special birthday be the first of many more years of maturing, growing and understanding. To see the wonders of the world through my child's eyes is indeed my privilege.
