December seems a very busy month, always with the frenzy of preparing for Christmas: gift-shopping, gift-wrapping (I prefer to wrap my own gifts still), coordinating the Christmas dinner menu; year-end meet up sessions with friends etc. And my mum-in-law's birthday falls properly in the middle of this frenzy ;)
The cake was a regular Choc cake from Baker's Creation at Woodlands (Marsiling). I had wanted to buy their famous carrot cake but they didn't have it without a pre-order. Well! I am determined to get it for next year.
So off we went one cool Sunday evening to one of the furthest corners of Singapore for dinner. It was a worthwhile car ride there & back on a few counts. Firstly, the dinner was good. ThaiPan, the Thai zi-char restaurant didn't disappoint. Secondly, we had a good time chatting with Fred's folks. Thirdly, we digested the food with a leisure coastal walk along Changi Beach & more chatting... The folks were ferried home full and happy.
We ordered most dishes recommended by people who wrote reviews & they turned out yummy! A generous portion of fish maw soup with crab (my favourite!!!), butter squids (the melted butter that coated the squids was yums!), brocooli with egg & crab meat & hotplate venison meat (not shown above cos when it arrived, I was already too busy eating...)
