A knowledgable and friendly housewife-volunteer guide took us on a pleasant walking tour covering all major sights in Nara. A nice change from exploring on our own and reading explanations from Lonely Planet guidebook. Fred enjoyed conversing with her (in English of course) on local lifestyle patterns. We realised the typical Japanese family doesn't eat sushi nor seafood everyday due to cost. Hmmm... CNA's Japan Hour gave us the wrong impression... haha.
