Mum-in-law's Birthday Dinner at Pu Tien & Our Wishes for the New Year

Again, I had wanted to bring the elderly folks to Pu Tien after having tasted their signature dishes like Lor Mee. (Looks like I had wanted to do lotsa things & it's nice when I finally get to do them). So when MIL's birthday was round the corner, I suggested to hubby we ought to bring her to Pu Tien. We reserved a table at the Marina Square branch.

The food was great because the taste was generally unique (like the 'white-coloured soup-based' Pu Tien Lor Mee instead of the dark-coloured thick-gravy ones that we often eat at hawker centres). My only contention would be the price. Chinese ethnic home-style cooking that is upgraded to restaurant standard with an upmarket ambience, does come with a steep price difference. Although we slurped on our Lor Mee & downed our Fried Hing Wa Bee Hoon with enthusiasm, we think we would eat again here possibly at another annual important occasion. Yeah, we are simple folks with not-so-deep pockets afterall.

My personal fav: Shredded Meat with Bun. Very tasty with deep-fried crispy buns!

My reward for the night - my MIL's measured, genuine endorsement of Pu Tien Lor Mee (hmmm... this is delicious, she said).

We ended the night with a stroll down Marina Bay Walk & wrote our new year wishes on the big white balloons. They are now floating somewhere in the Bay waters, waiting for the CountDown Party!
