These are short essays, photo and video chronicles of my travels, significant events or just ordinary events with special meaning. These people are my family and friends, whom I dearly love.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Angel is 13 months turning 14. She doesn't care much yet about The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Any caterpillar, or ladybug or butterfly. She has them all over - in her bedroom, in her cloth books, in her diaper packs (Petpet!), as her teether, as her push toy... I bet I can only do 2 days of The Caterpillar with her now & she will be scurrying off somewhere else for adventure.
So it wasn't her but me. I was the one who was so pleasantly surprised I covered my mouth in wonderment & sheer delight. My sister had taken the trouble to buy me (oops, I mean Angel) THE book every child should have in her own library. Well, I didn't think much when she texted me about it (hmmm... something a child must have huh?). But when I saw it, that was IT.
As thrifty parents, we would refrain from buying some things since they can be loaned instead (oh yes, the public library). And my fabulous sister just unashamedly thinks well, yiyi will buy her this! But it's not about the value of the book. On the contrary, it's about something quite priceless. It's a child's imagination. And mine. It's a world where words are simple, logic is honest & pictures are colourful & bright! It's about reliving a lost time, my own childhood of stories & rhymes, of bunnies & butterflies; of fairies & goblins, of starlight & snowflakes & everything nice. I felt a deep excitement that I am about to reclaim imagination, fantasy & dreams. Through all the reading, the silly games, the rumble tumble dancing around with my daughter, Angelin. Mama is so looking forward to your world of pictures, words & songs. Mama loves you oh so deeply.
