The beginning of our Herbs Garden?

Some time back, while tending to our plants, I decidedly unrooted the money plant leaves that were growing in 2 of our pots. Tired of these creepy plants. "Dear, I have made space for herbs!" I announced proudly to Fred. So on a subsequent supermart shopping trip, we chose 2 culinary herbs: basil and rosemary.

Fred took to the task of transplanting our herbs over to the big pots.

Sweet basil ...

... growing alongside the original resident of the pot.
Let's hope these new immigrants will make it! hee!

Rosemary joined the pot ...

... outside at the living balcony, proudly overlooking everything else underneath.

I 'harvested' some rosemary twigs & made soup with back bacon.
Added a drizzle of olive oil into the water.
White onions sweetened the soup. Amazingly easy & simple.
Didn't even use chicken stock because I wanted to taste the rosemary.

We were extremely pleased at the aroma & taste of rosemary in the soup. Fred observed that the leaves themselves were more tender than the fresh rosemary leaves sold in little sachets in Cold Storage.

Let's hope the herbs continue to grow & thrive in our garden.
