We stayed at the Historical Seacombe House at Port Fairy.

The decorative items shown above included this very old wallclock, dating back to the 1800s. The award-winning restaurant kept the old name of the hotel - The Stag.

Discovery Australia F & C: Quintessential Port Fairy feels like a romantic affair

Port Fairy is an unforgettable place! The name reminds me of fantasy, of everything starry and magical, as one can expect out of fairy tales. And fairy tales are just so romantic. So were our experiences at Port Fairy. An idyllic location besides the Great Ocean, this seaside town has beautiful townhouses, lots of greenery and a tranquil river with yachts lined along the pier. To top up all this natural beauty, it is connected to a small island called Griffith Island. I've never quite come across an adjoining island by foot, that is nothing less of unspoilt nature and wild life.

We ate our first sumptuous meal of seafood - white fish and oysters with wine. The restaurant was right beside the pier and offered a fantastic view of the river. After dinner, we walked along the river and admired the houses built on its banks. Occasionally, our eyes caught the pleasing interiors of some of these houses and we were immediately inspired!

Discovery Australia F & C: Have you seen the ocean so blue & the road so long ahead?

Driving along the coast. We did it in US, Taiwan (on a motorbike) and most recently, Australia. We drove in New Zealand, took endless train rides in Japan, walked till we dropped in Hanoi & Venice. We took multiple budget flights in & out London, Paris & Rome. But top of the ranks - the costal drive! Nothing can quite beat that in sheer pleasure, with the exception of the scenic inland drive through New Zealand's astonishingly beautiful landscape.

The ocean has a mysterous draw. It beckons the visitor as if calling out to explore this vastness, this great symphony with the wind and the gulls. It calms the nerves & soothes the soul of the weary visitor. It refreshes and awakens.

To rest from the long drive, we pulled over at the seaside towns for coffee & snacks. Then we window-shopped & checked out the listings outside the real estate outfit. Ocean-view houses. What a luxury, what a dream!

Little People

Some time in February, the little people were at The Bird Park for a movie called Yona Yona. They each showed off a penguin stuff toy here.

Little people love the playground.

They can be mischievious, ...


... creative,

or cooperative.

Their bedrooms and study room are filled with interesting playthings, ...

creatures from the sea...

creatures from the land...

scary ones...

creepy and scary ones ...

ugly ones...

colourful butterflies...

a pink dangling monkey,

the tiniest livestock and vegetables you have ever seen.

Their smile brightens up everyone, anywhere.

They love to keep busy all the time, anywhere.

Play is their main diet, seriously.

And although they live in their own fantasy and creative play world, they make very diplomatic efforts to engage with Big People called adults. They show extreme interest in

adult playthings too.

Oh, the Little People!

They make the world so beautiful, both theirs and ours.
