The Been-There-& Done-That of Cruising

Fred & I are not quite the cruising type. We have never found the idea of being on board a cruise exciting. However, for lack of choice of a short getaway and just to do a no-brainer vacation (without the need to research, to plan extensively etc etc), we succumbed to the promotional 1-for-1 offer. We took the bite of the carrot dangling during cash-strapped times. This was March 2009, the year the world economy were in the doldrums. Also the year NATAS fair was swamped with crowds looking for cheap bargains. No, we weren't there. But yes, we went on a cheap cruise. Just for the record - been there and done that. That's all I can say. Oh! Thank God they had Star Movies channel for entertainment.

Revisiting my childhood at the Mandai Zoo

On a hot hot hot weekend afternoon, this company of people braved the sun, the grime & the sweat for an excursion to the zoo.

The little boy was first enthralled by the cow at the entrance. Took some lengthy negotiation and persuasion before he would allow the cow to take a second passenger.
